Moravian is a Detroit-born indie rock band known for its unfiltered energy, melodic hooks, and emotionally charged performances. The group formed in 2022, featuring Alex Christ on lead vocals, Blake Potvin on lead guitar, Shane Wheeler on rhythm guitar, Coby Valead on bass, and Ricardo Velez behind the kit.

Since forming, the band has become a staple in Michigan’s live music scene, playing venues such as The Loving Touch in Ferndale, The Blind Pig in Ann Arbor, Grand Rapids’ Pyramid Scheme, Bell’s Eccentric Café in Kalamazoo, Diesel Lounge in Chesterfield - opening for Saving Abel, and The Crofoot in Pontiac - opening for Joe Hertler & The Rainbow Seekers. They've also performed countless DIY shows across popular college towns, building a dedicated fanbase along the way.

Outside of Michigan, Moravian has been able to reach audiences across the US and Canada on their “Call It What You Want” 2024 Tour and “Tell Me Why” 2025 Tour, playing in notable venues such as Bowery Electric in New York, The East Room in Nashville, and The Baby G in Toronto.

In the short amount of time as a group, they have had the opportunity to work alongside the powerhouse producers at Rustbelt Studios and Third Man Records to help shape the sound of their most recent hit-worthy tracks.

Their latest single, “Ashes,” released in January 2026, starts the year off with a refreshed identity charging into 2026. Moravian channels Detroit’s raw energy and DIY spirit into a sound that’s both timeless and relentlessly evolving. With each punchy riff and emotionally charged performance, they continue to captivate audiences and push the boundaries of indie rock, carrying their fire forward - one packed venue at a time.
